We know that coaching is an extremely important responsibility. A good coach always places the best interest of a player before winning. The players and their parents have placed us in a position of leadership, and we have a responsibility to give them our best effort. Additionally, our NFL Flag Football Program will play a significant factor in determining whether the players continue participating in football in the future. We have our coaches follow a Coaching Guideline to better serve the players and parents.
Our coaches are enthusiastic without being intimidating. They are sensitive to the children’s feelings and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. They are dedicated to serving children and understand that football provides physical and emotional growth for it participants. Always remembering, NFL Flag Football is for the children.
Our coaches realize that they are teachers, not drill sergeants. Our coach’s helps the children learn and work to improve their skills. Personal gains are never a consideration. Our job does not depend on winning but the interest of the child, which transforms into the best interests of the game.
The safety and welfare of the children is never compromised. Our coaches consider these factors above all others.
Our coaches have a tremendous amount of patience. They will not push the children beyond their limits in regards to practice. Our coaches know that children have many daily pressures and the NFL Flag Football experience should not be one of them. NFL Flag Football is supposed to be fun.
Our coaches care more about the players as people than as athletes. Our NFL Flag Football Program is a means to an end, not an end to itself.
Our coaches encourage players to set lofty goals. They know that it is important to remain positive and refrain from discouraging remarks, knowing that negative comments are remembered far more often than positive affirmations.
Our coaches know that parents and players place a lot of trust and confidence in them. Knowing that they have an important role in molding the athletic experience of the child.
Our coaches measure success by the respect they get the players, regardless of victories or defeats. Knowing that children who mature socially and physically while participating in our NFL Flag Football Program is the best indication of how good they coached.
